If we listen we can hear life leaving the land, pulling back as leaves fall, grass curls, and creatures prepare for the scarcity of winter. In this way we begin to remember those who have come before us, those we have lost, those we now hold dear.

CELEBRATION
Samhain is celebrated on October 31st. Rituals include drying herbs, harvesting and storing nuts, creating a table or altar display honoring ancestors with photographs, items of remembrance, fall leaves, fruits, nuts, and gourds. It is believed the veil between the living and dead is thinnest on this evening and so practices of divination are often held, including tarot readings and meditations.
